Its that time of the year when, there is going to be some fresh energy pumped into the work. Its the college holidays period. All those 'want to do something' people are on a look out and we offer things to be done. BlushingPi is offering internships for two positions of Web Dev and Biz Dev. Heres the document which details out the requirements

Been sometime, this is up on scribd, passed around through mails, and exposed through the India-Interns. The latter needs a special mention as they are doing a great job connecting the intern aspirants and startups like us in a very efficient way at totally no cost. Thanks Robin for that.Responses are flowing in slow and steady and it inspires me even more seeing that startups and starting up are not anymore a taboo or elitist thing. Have a list of resumes to go through and in the process of doing so, I'm impressed particularly by a few profiles.

Pole is helping me in handling the web dev intern and he deserves more than what I'm just giving him here, 'Thanks a ton'. We have a plan of action for this weekend. A list of candidates to be interviewed and zeroing onto the suitable candidate so that we can take him/her aboard ASAP. I'm confident the intern selected will not only be resourceful for BlushingPi but also will enjoy this journey with us in achieving some of the common short and long term goals.

PS : Now that good amount of people know about BlushingPi, first things they ask me is 'Hows it going?', though that doesnt irritate me, I'm finding it very difficult to find an objective answer to that. I guess, most entrepreneurs will agree here.

PPS : Still to shout it out, somethings are happening, some are not, we're still good. Immediate concerns in priority order are : pre-sales process flow > service strategy and infrastructure/tie ups > company/product positioning.

PPPS : We dint make it to the final round of Power Of Ideas campaign. Sad but true, but nothing changes.

Updates

Lots to update since the last post here.

• ET-Power of Ideas campaign has been occupying us since the time we got shortlisted for the second round. Attended the mentoring session at Bangalore and its been quite eventful ever since. Preparing the elevator pitch though looked easy being only a six slide presentation but had to put in a lot of thoughts in place going into it. All said and done, I submitted the pitch just before the deadline. And the discussion on the the same with IAN(Indian Angel Network) was scheduled for last Saturday the 25th April at 1PM. Mr Umar of IAN called up on time and to summarize the discussion, it was 'GOOD'.
• I was to take him through the whole pitch of six slides in 15 minutes. Started off defining the product for him. Prolly he didn't get the complete hang of it, initially, and good for me that he asked me to clarify. So we went off the document and then onwards it was more of a business discussion. He showed interest and I lucidly could explain to him every part of it, though in not the same order as the slides.
• The best sign came when he asked me go to the financials irrespective of the slide. Form whatever interaction I've had with investors, thats one sign when an investor likes your ideas, he wants to know how much money it generates.
• Meanwhile have also got two more people on board. As promoters though we lack the relevant field experience these two members make for it. They definitely need a separate post and the links to their for all their achievements and what they bring to the table for BlushingPi.
• Meanwhile on a personal front last 2 weeks hasn't been very good. Without dwelling much, there is a crack I hope it doesn't break things up for BlushingPi. I am determined not to let it.

Competition is good.

We always fear competition. I am not different in most of the circumstance but not with BlushingPi. Starting up in the sector of self-publishing which is still a niche and not so omnipresent in India makes me happy to see competition. I see it working in my favor. I see it as the validation of concept. Not a lack of self confidence, but definitely an assurance that my brainchild which though has undergone a lot of research from my own side also impresses someone else who wants to bet money on it and do business. He might beat me at it or get beaten, but for BlushingPi which is still in its nascent stages and is awaiting acceptance on a mass scale, this is a very good indication.

Yes! We have been shortlisted for our BlushingPi's entry to the second stage of ET-Power Of Ideas.
What next?
I am to receive guidelines for completing an Elevator Pitch and the same has to be completed and emailed one or before 21st April. Theres also a mentoring session for the same on 17th here in Bangy.
Have to make the pitch very impressive as well as compulsive to grab the attention of any investor as the competition is very high but we got to do this, as the stakes on hold are also higher.
Funding is the aim.

It just Clicked....

Does it sound shady? Do we care? Actually we do! But I'm convinced that the coolness about it, is too much for anything else to be noticed.

The idea being in the brains and under research for almost a year needed a name at last, to book the domain name. I wanted something intrinsically suggestive but yet not very explicit. I wanted fun to be the crux of the name. I wanted it to be characteristic me. Also from the business perspective of things it had to be catchy and with high recollectable quotient. It also had to have a certain character/element associated with it, with which one and all can relate very easily.

What we were getting into through this was 'Publishing', I worked around it from right, left, front, back, up and down, I found a befitting anagram which matched all the above requirements.

Kick start or self start, just start up!

Its curtains up for BlushingPi now. After all that research and thought process which has gone into visualization of the product, its finally seeing the inital stages of implementation. And this space would be totally devoted to all my ramblings about starting up with BlushingPi, indeed, growing up
with it. This will be a frank take on all that I will foster and falter at in coming days. If not anybody else, I dont want to fool myself.

Raghuram is the partner in crime as we have developed a camaraderie in lot more other crimes than just starting up. And hopefully we both should engage the server with blog updates quite frequently.
